Aaltovoima Northern Ltd. organizes the Wavepower Lapland Chef Academy – a free two-day intensive training where you get to develop your professional skills under the guidance of top-level professionals and build a concrete path to winter season jobs in Lapland.
This is not an ordinary course. The Academy combines practical training, professional development, and the opportunity to get employed through Wavepower in Lapland's leading hotels and restaurants.
Who is the Academy suitable for?
We are looking for:
- Trained Chefs and kitchen professionals looking for a new job or seasonal work
- Chefs in the early stages of their career with basic skills and motivation to develop quickly
- International talents with sufficient language skills and the right to work in Finland
- Chefs interested in Lapland's hotels, experiential restaurants, and international clientele
What does the Academy offer?
Top-level trainers
Experienced professionals Aki Kantelinen and Johan Kurkela will act as trainers, sharing their practical expertise and experience from professional kitchens with the participants.
Two effective days
The training focuses on practical work, the demands of a professional kitchen, and what it takes to succeed during Lapland's busy winter season.
Certificate of competence
Those who successfully complete the Academy will receive an Wavepower Lapland Chef Academy certificate.
Path to working life
Wavepower connects the Chefs participating in the Academy with suitable job assignments in Lapland's hotels and restaurants during the upcoming winter season.
Practical information
- The Academy will be held on 17.–18.10.2026
- Both days from 10 AM–5 PM
- The training is free of charge
- The location is the test kitchen located upstairs at Brasserie Lionne in Helsinki
- Hans Välimäki provides the space for Academy use
- Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs in Helsinki
- Please bring your own Workwear and knives
- Those participating in the Academy commit to employment through Wavepower for the upcoming winter season
Application

Selected candidates will be notified of their selection on 9.10.2026.
No CV needs to be attached to the application. Applicants fill in their information directly into the system and answer the following questions:
